Abstract

Dental loss is an issue that significantly impacts the quality of life, affecting functions such as chewing, speech, and self-esteem. Dental prostheses have been an option to restore these functions, with approximately 11% of the Brazilian population being completely edentulous. While dentistry has evolved from a practice focused on curing to a more rehabilitative approach, technological advances have enabled the development of more effective prostheses, including conventional complete dentures and implant-supported dentures. Both options have their advantages and challenges, influencing the patient's decision and treatment success. This study aims to explore the patient experience with both prosthesis modalities, seeking to identify factors that impact their satisfaction and to inform more precise clinical decisions.
