Cervical cytopathological examination is the method of choice in Brazil for cervical cancer screening, and because of this, mortality can be reduced, since it allows early diagnosis of pre-neoplastic lesions. The target population is women between 25 and 64 years old, and the examination is not recommended for women outside this age range due to the low incidence and the possibility of spontaneous resolution of intracellular lesions caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). In addition to monitoring the target population, coverage is also very important, since it is directly related to mortality, where the more women of the recommended ages are screened, the lower the death rates from this cancer. Given this, this article aims to analyze these variables in a retrospective and descriptive manner in the city of Cascavel-PR.
