Abstract

Contraception is part of family planning actions, encompassing reproductive rights centered on the Brazilian citizen. Various factors are considered when choosing which contraceptive method to use, but in practice, it is necessary to evaluate adherence to the chosen contraceptive. Additionally, knowing that the medical course requires significant availability from its students due to the extensive workload, avoiding unplanned pregnancies becomes a necessity. Thus, it is hoped that the research will identify the prevalence of each method among medical students in order to establish the relationship between use and follow-up with healthcare providers, and to understand whether the students have a positive relationship with the contraception they use.
