The association between Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and various sleep disorders has received increasing attention in recent decades. However, little is known about the impact of sleep and its changes on the development of preclinical developments of the disease, such as Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). This review describes the evolution of knowledge about the bidirectional environmental relationships between AD and sleep disorders, as well as studies of the possible mechanisms of association between sleep and neurodegenerative diseases.
