The following research aims to expand the debates regarding the harm of screen consumption in the process of development and learning in early childhood. As this is a crucial phase for development, understanding the damage caused by prolonged exposure is essential, as we live in a digital age and devices provide practicality, being inserted into family daily life, facilitating access by children. The methodology applied was exploratory research, of a qualitative nature, using bibliographical research and structured interviews. The results indicated that early and excessive consumption can cause damage to the biological, psychological and social development of children, mainly affecting the areas of concentration and memory, agitation and impaired sleep, making this scenario a challenge for families and schools. Finally, there are many gaps to be explored, making it necessary for more research to be carried out to contribute to the discussion.
