Urethral obstruction in female cats is rare, but lower urinary tract disease is common in both sexes. Obstructive conditions cause symptoms such as hematuria, dysuria, and pollakiuria, primarily affecting cats aged 2 to 6 years. Factors like low water intake, recurring stress, low physical activity, and obesity may be related to obstructive episodes, although most cases are idiopathic. Obstruction, more common in males, can lead to severe renal disturbances and even death if treatment is delayed. This work reports a case of urethral obstruction in a cat with good progress following the instituted therapy.
