This article aimed to highlight the relationship between hysterectomy and the sexual function of women who underwent the surgery between the menarche and menopause periods, also emphasizing the impacts of this procedure on women's lives and their sexual health. The study was developed based on a prospective and descriptive exploratory field research, with the collection of quantitative data through the application of a structured questionnaire to women attended at a Basic Health Unit in a municipality in western Paraná. Through the questionnaire used, it was possible to verify that the average score analyzed from the answers provided by hysterectomized women was lower than the scores obtained by women with preserved uterine structure. In other words, the data obtained in this research showed that hysterectomized women tend to experience a decline in sexual function. However, it is important to emphasize the need for further studies on the subject for better data analysis.
