This article sought to analyze the characteristics of bullying in the school context. This is a literature review searching for scientific productions in the PUBMED, SCOPUS and WEB OF SCIENCE databases, using the descriptors: Bullying, public school, intervention and school violence that answered the problem question: “What is the impact of bullying on children and adolescents in the school environment?” from 2019 to 2024. It is observed that bullying is a notable presence both inside and outside the classroom, impacting children's teaching and learning and resulting in psychological problems and behavioral disorders that make them vulnerable to any type of aggression. It is concluded that combating bullying requires the involvement of the entire school community, including teachers, parents and students, to create a positive school environment free from violence.
