This article, derived from the dissertation “Educational Inclusion of the Deaf: a challenge for public schools (2015-2022)”, investigates teaching and learning proposals to promote the inclusion of deaf students in Brazilian public schools. Through a systematic review of the literature, the study seeks to identify the main challenges and opportunities in this process. The research, of a qualitative nature, used content analysis to analyze articles, dissertations, and theses published between 2018 and 2022. The results reveal the importance of several strategies for the inclusion of deaf students, such as the use of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), the adaptation of teaching materials, the support of Libras interpreters, and the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). The results of the research point to the need for a multifaceted approach to the inclusion of deaf students. Continuing teacher training, providing adequate resources, and creating public policies that promote accessibility and equity are essential to guarantee the right to quality education for all students.
