This study focuses on the implementation of Integrated Secondary Education with Professional Education in the health field in the State of Acre, specifically in the municipality of Rio Branco, through the Nursing, Aesthetics, and Oral Health courses offered by the State Public Education Network. The central objective is to investigate the reasons why the implementation of this educational model was not completed by the end of 2019, as planned. The methodology adopted combines a literature review with field research conducted at the Maria Moreira da Rocha Technical Health School, using the integrated education experience at the institution as the corpus. The study is qualitative and exploratory in nature, based on the theoretical approaches of Moura (2007), Rehem (2009), and Saviani (1987). The results indicate that for the integration of professional and basic education to be effective, more than a political decision formalized by decree is required; a collective pedagogical effort within the schools is essential, along with continuous teacher training and job stability. Furthermore, it was identified that high teacher turnover, inadequate funding, and the lack of resources for supervised internships are barriers that hinder the quality of integrated professional training. It is concluded that the effective integration of basic and professional education depends on pedagogical and structural actions that involve ongoing investment in teacher training and material support.
