Abstract

The present aims to analyze the process that the individual takes to achieve intellectual and social development through the skills developed in their school process and in their environment, thinking about contributing to good development through digital literacy in conjunction with teaching traditional Portuguese language. From this perspective, we seek to highlight how digital literacy plays into the individual's multiple capabilities in their educational, social and cultural process to prepare students for communication in the digital world. The theme was chosen because it is dynamic and current, without losing the true essence of the thirst for knowledge and learning. The individual's multiple capabilities are developed through daily contact with different types of texts, whether printed or digital, characterized as textual genres, with verbal or non-verbal structure. It is concluded that although the traditional teaching of the Portuguese language needs to be continued, integration with digital literacy is possible and beneficial.
