Malnutriotion is one of the main problems in developing countries in the 21st century. Children who experience malnutrition already begin with poor nutrition in utero life, because the mothers are unable to eat enough and, both she and the fetus, end up suffering the consequences. The child will be born with low birth weight compared to newborn children of the same gestational age and the mother will not have the strength to endure a natural birth and will have to undergo a cesarean section. Malnutrition causes several problem for a child´s life, the main ones that will be addressed in this article are weight loss and short stature. To assess weight loss, it is necessary to evaluate the weight-for-age relationship and to see height, it is necessary to analyze weight for height. Nutriotinally adequate food is essential for all children. When we refer to “nutritionally healthy eating” we are referring to a controlled amount of carbohydrates, proteins, salads. Nutritionally healthy food is not that fatty food that will satisfy the child’s immediate desire, but rather that food can satisfy the child and also provide optimal nutritional development, with the exact amount of nutrients needed for healthy growth.
