Abstract

The monitoring program corresponds to a teaching-learning instrument that has the purpose of developing academic activities within the institutional scope, providing the improvement of theoretical-practical knowledge in a given area. The study in question aims to demonstrate the positive impacts promoted by monitoring on the training of students and future professional physiotherapists, acting as monitors for the discipline of clinical assessment in physiotherapy. This is an experience report based on the experiences and knowledge acquired during the monitoring during the monitoring of students from April to December 2022. The monitoring exercise amounted to a total of 8 hours per week where the monitoring of students was carried out. students inside and outside classes, developing materials that facilitated the absorption of content. Over the months, there was the opportunity to experience the pillars of teaching and research through initiation into teaching and the construction of scientific work. This discipline is extremely important for the training of physiotherapists, since the clinical evaluation will determine the actions to be taken regarding the treatment. In this way, the relevance of monitoring can be seen in improving the physiotherapeutic assessment process, preparing for entry into the job market.
