This article reports on the experiences of the Community Teaching-Service Integration I (IESC) course at the Francisco Paes de Lira Family Health Unit II, located in the city of Redenção-PA. The activities were carried out in the first semester of 2024, with a group of students from the first term of the medicine course at the Faculdade de Ensino Superior da Amazônia Reunida (FESAR), by means of visits made every two weeks in rotation between monitoring the operation of the unit and participating in home visits with the community health agents (ACS), which aimed to integrate the students into the reality of the community of the serrinha sector, under the guidance of the community agents of the serrinha sector. This multidisciplinary experience identified a context in which the community's inhabitants were exposed to situations of physical and social vulnerability, such as lack of basic sanitation, irregular housing and difficulties in accessing basic health services, making the area lack basic infrastructure. The learning method used was aimed at linking theory and practice with field experience, allowing students to develop sensitive and empathetic skills, which are fundamental to the future doctor-patient relationship.
