ANALYSIS OF THE INTEREST OF GRADUATES FROM THE ACCOUNTING SCIENCES COURSE OF THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF THE STATE OF AMAZONAS AND THE AMAZONAS STATE UNIVERSITY-UEA, ABOUT THE ACTUARIAL JOB MARKET

Abstract

This study analyzes the interest of graduates from the Accounting Sciences program at the Federal University of the State of Amazonas (UFAM) and the State University of Amazonas (UEA) in the actuarial job market, within the context of increasing digital transformation. The objective is to understand the competencies and expectations of future professionals in relation to the actuarial market, as well as the academic training needs to prepare them adequately. The methodology used was a comprehensive literature review, involving the analysis of relevant studies on competencies and academic training in accounting and actuarial sciences. The results show that graduates perceive the actuarial market as promising but recognize the need to develop specific competencies to stand out. Technical competencies such as data analysis and statistical modeling are essential, as are behavioral skills like adaptability and problem-solving ability. Graduates from UFAM and UEA highlight the importance of academic training that includes practical and technological content for better preparation. The main conclusion is that academic training must evolve to meet the needs of the actuarial job market, incorporating more practical and technological experiences. Simultaneously, organizations should promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning. This synergy between academia and the job market is essential to maximize opportunities and mitigate the challenges presented by the constantly evolving professional environment, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for their future careers in the actuarial market.
