This article aims to discuss the contributions of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, highlighting its potential to contribute and transform teaching and learning. AI, defined as the simulation of human intelligence by machines, offers several educational applications, such as the automation of administrative activities, the personalization of learning and data-based decision making. The methodology of this work is bibliographic in nature and analyzes how these innovations allow educators to focus on activities with greater added value and adapt teaching to the specific needs of students, ensuring more effective and committed learning. It is worth noting that the integration of AI in education also presents challenges, including ethical and privacy issues, which require a careful approach. The article concludes that, despite these challenges, AI can be a powerful ally in the educational environment, as long as its use is guided by ethical and pedagogical principles that aim for the integral development of students.
