Cardiac surgery (CC) is a procedure used in the treatment of serious cardiovascular diseases and has significant rates of postoperative complications. However, several resources can be used to reduce these complications. The objective: of this study was to systematize the scientific evidence on physical therapy treatment techniques for postoperative rehabilitation for ASD correction and mitral valve repair. This study is a literature review, carried out by a bibliographic survey through 15 articles. Therefore, the present work seeks to present a study on approaches that can be applied in evidence-based clinical practice. The research arises through the PICO strategy: Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation; CIA Correction; Mitral valve plasty. The purpose: of this project is to promote a literature review that confirms the relationship between muscle performance, pain and functionality of individuals with the physical therapy approaches used in people with surgical diagnosis for ASD correction and mitral valve repair. Results: The purpose of this project is to promote a bibliographical review that confirms the relationship between muscular performance, pain and functionality of individuals with the physiotherapeutic approaches used in people with an operative diagnosis for ASD correction and mitral valve repair. Conclusion: The physiotherapeutic interventions reported in this study contribute to the development of rehabilitation protocols that can promote significant gains and benefits to patients in the postoperative period of cardiac surgery.
