This article analyzes the strategies and challenges of interdisciplinary education in public and private universities in Brazil. Recognizing the importance of an educational approach that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, the study compares how different institutions implement interdisciplinary practices and face structural, financial, and cultural obstacles. Using a qualitative methodology based on literature reviews and analyses of educational programs, the study reveals that both public and private universities are committed to promoting interdisciplinarity, despite differences in their approaches and operational contexts. In public universities, the challenges include funding and regulation, while private universities focus on partnerships with the industrial and technological sectors to foster innovation. The research concludes that, despite the barriers, interdisciplinarity is essential for preparing students for a dynamic and interconnected job market and offers recommendations to overcome the identified obstacles.
