This article aims to demystify the modern concept of Freedom present in the Educational field. Therefore, it is understood that this concept is often used in the description of what Education is, both by professionals in the field and by others, resulting in an idealistic romanticization based on a modern episteme in which, in reality, reverberates in an illusory aspect of human liberation. To this end, a historical-philosophical reflection is carried out, based mainly on scientific articles and, taking as a starting point, the Enlightenment period, based on some of Kant's ideas. In contrast, in this article, we hope, with the use of ideas from authors such as Nietzsche, Foucault and Deleuze, to subvert the modern concept of freedom and, finally, with the help of Bourdieuan concepts, we hope to create a new perspective of understanding of what Education is and its role today.
