Abstract

Shared custody is a parental arrangement after separations or divorces, where both parents share responsibilities for raising children. This model presents a series of benefits, such as maintaining strong bonds with both parents, emotional stability and parental balance. However, it also faces logistical challenges, differences in parenting style and may require children to adapt. Regarding children's well-being, shared custody can promote healthy relationships and emotional stability, but it requires solid parental cooperation to minimize conflict and ensure a positive environment for children's development. In summary, joint custody offers significant benefits, but requires careful planning and a collaborative approach to meet children's needs appropriately. The purpose of this article is to investigate the individual and social effects of implementing shared custody, seeking to identify how this approach affects the emotional development, quality of life and family interactions of those involved, in order to contribute to a better understanding. in-depth analysis of the effects of this practice on contemporary society.
