Preventive physical therapy in the workplace seeks to prevent work-related injuries and health problems. Key practices may involve advising on correct postures, adjustments to equipment or work environments. Thus, the main objective of the research is to elucidate the challenges and potentialities that physical therapists face during their professional practice in the preventive area of occupational health. Qualitative research was chosen using the integrative literature review as a research method. The results pointed to the main challenge, which is to consolidate the role of the physiotherapist as an integral part of the team, since his role has been highlighted in maintaining the health of employees and preventing physical problems caused by work activities. Therefore, not only the institutions of Higher Education but also the bodies that represent the category, all of them have the important mission of disseminating and exposing the area better, working more on the disciplines related to Occupational Health.
