Introduction: Dengue is a seasonal viral pathology in Brazil, especially in hot and rainy periods, being a compulsory notification disease. Methodology: In view of its epidemic pattern in the year 2024, we sought scientific evidence on the imaging findings of the infectious pattern of dengue and its signs, as well as the management and classification of this pattern of illness. This integrative review was based on research and electronic scientific evidence in the health area. Result and Discussion: Severe dengue is observed, an increase in vascular permeability and plasma extravasation and consequent gradual progression to intravascular hypovolemia, shock and multi-organ dysfunction. Among the findings, we highlighted complications in the respiratory, nervous, liver, renal and cardiovascular systems. Conclusion: Although there is no specific treatment, knowledge of the main warning signs, classification of dengue cases and complementary tests are an important tool for early recognition of severe forms of the disease.
