Abstract

This study analyzes the issue of obstetric violence in its various facets, from the historical evolution of childbirth to the contemporary understanding of conception and birth. The behaviors that characterize disrespect towards women in labor include inappropriate handling of the body, the use of insults and neglect of women's autonomy. The analysis seeks a deep understanding of the nature of obstetric violence and its impact on women's rights during and after pregnancy. The purpose is to raise society's awareness of this issue and encourage the development of more effective public policies in this context.
