Introduction: Tooth intrusion is one of the most complex and difficult movements. Therefore, mini-implants (MIP) are an extremely viable option for independence from patients' work and provide much greater comfort. MIP characterized the concept of absolute anchorage in Orthodontics and guaranteed orthodontists greater safety and predictability of procedures. At first, it is important to understand that MIP are devices or small titanium screws that function as anchorage reinforcements for orthodontic forces. Objectives: This work investigates the impact of MIP in the treatment of tooth intrusion, defining its periodicity, discussing the factors considered for its installation and analyzing the process of tooth intrusion with MIP. Methodology: A bibliographical review was carried out seeking to associate the use of mini-implants in the treatment of dental intrusion through research in the databases PubMed, National Library of Medicine, Google Scholar and Scielo using the following keywords: intrusion, mini-implants, anchoring. Conclusion: The aforementioned evidence reinforces the indication of the use of mini-implants in the movement of tooth intrusion whenever the conditions are appropriate. Tooth intrusion, considered a more complex orthodontic movement when compared to others, can now be performed with greater safety, effectiveness and simplicity, in addition to being more aesthetically pleasing when compared to conventional approaches. Treatments for non-cooperative individuals that made treatment difficult and delayed can now be carried out.
