The epidemiological profile of diseases in Brazil has undergone significant changes during the pandemic, with morbimortality rates being influenced by the overlap of COVID-19 with other pathologies. In this regard, this study aims to analyze the behavioral pattern of indicators related to hip fractures in this context. To achieve this, a cross-sectional study investigated 510,998 patients hospitalized for hip fractures between 2018 and 2022 using the SUS Hospital Morbidity Database (SIH-DATASUS). The results demonstrated a 9.8% increase in femur fracture mortality from 2020 to 2021, with a higher annual percentage variation in the male population aged over 70. The complex intersection between hip fractures, advanced age, and SARS-CoV-2 infection highlights a considerable risk in patients with this combination, emphasizing the need for integrated and adaptive approaches in their care.
