This work addresses the need to rethink traditional educational practices, which often teach content in a fragmented way and do not promote an articulated understanding of knowledge. The importance of an interdisciplinary approach in education is highlighted, especially given the challenges faced by students in reading and writing, which can affect their future insertion into the job market. The study proposes reflections for teachers on how to integrate the curriculum in an interdisciplinary way, aiming to facilitate the construction of knowledge. To support this proposal, methods and concepts from different theorists are presented. Among them Japiassu (1976), Fazenda (1993; 1994; 2003), Soares (2001; 2004; 2006), Luck (1994; 2013), Durkheim (2010) among others, highlighting the relevance of teacher training to face these challenges. The work also addresses the obstacles faced in the implementation of interdisciplinarity in basic education, with a conceptual contribution.
