Abstract

The present essay aims to defend the following thesis: the culture of vanity intensifies vulnerability and hinders the sociomoral development of adolescents. Therefore, the concepts of vulnerability, sociomoral development, and the culture of vanity were theoretically explored and interrelated, with a focus on the adolescent phase. Among the vulnerabilities of adolescents, those resulting from interactions through new information and communication technologies. It was argued that, in terms of human development, the quality of such interactions is questionable, as they do not promote moral autonomy.
