Introduction - Bruxism is a multifactorial functional disorder in which a person has the habit of grinding or clenching their teeth during the day or during sleep. The higher levels of muscle activity during the activity of the dysfunction increase the negative risk to oral health, such as muscle pain, joint pain in the TMJ, extreme mechanical wear on the teeth and some prosthetic complications that can even lead to fractures in the dental elements. To minimize and even avoid such damage, there are forms of control such as intraoral appliances and occlusal splints, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and pharmacological therapy. In this sense, one of the ways to rehabilitate the affected patient is the placement of veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays in pure ceramic, as it has properties such as resistance to compression, similarity to dental tissues, good thermal conductivity, radiopacity in imaging exams. , marginal integrity and color stability. Objective - this work aimed to demonstrate that rehabilitation using ceramic pieces in patients with bruxism is indicated as long as there is control of disease activity through psychological conditioning and use of the occlusal splint. Methodology - a bibliographic review was carried out combining the themes: bruxism and ceramic pieces, with articles from the pubmed, google scholar, National Library of Medicine and scielo platforms, from the years 2003 to 2022 and written in English and Portuguese. Conclusion - The objective of the literature review was determinate the effectiveness of ceramic pieces in the rehabilitation of bruxing patients. Thus, the studies carried out corroborated the usefulness of these pieces, however, the need to control the disease and its symptoms, analysis and treatment of its causes together with the patient's psychological conditioning is highlighted.
