Abstract

This study addresses the challenges for the inclusion of people with disabilities in contemporary times, investigating three specific aspects: the main events of Special Education in Brazil, legal issues related to the rights of people with disabilities in education and the definition of inclusion in the specific environment. The research problem consists of understanding the main obstacles faced for the inclusion of these people, considering these three aspects. The justification for carrying out this study lies in the need to promote in-depth reflection on the challenges and perspectives of the inclusion of people with disabilities, aiming to contribute to the development of more inclusive policies and practices. The objectives of this work are to analyze Special Education events in Brazil, investigate legal issues related to the rights of people with disabilities in education and define the concept of inclusion in the specific environment. The methodology adopted will be a bibliographic review, which will allow a critical analysis of the challenges and perspectives of inclusion, based on a detailed analysis of the existing literature on the topic. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the advancement of knowledge about the inclusion of people with disabilities and to the development of more inclusive policies and practices in our society.
