Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease with high prevalence and complexity of treatment. This study reviewed the literature on the multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of type 2 diabetes, focusing on the integration of education, nutrition and pharmacological therapy. Education plays a key role, enabling patients to understand their condition and adopt healthy behaviors. Structured educational programs are essential to promote self-management of the disease. In relation to nutrition, customizing the eating plan is crucial, considering individual preferences and nutritional needs. Nutritional guidance aims to promote healthy food choices and glycemic control. Regarding pharmacological therapy, a variety of options are available, allowing individualization of treatment. The selection of medicines must be based on solid evidence, taking into account efficacy, safety and tolerability. The multidisciplinary approach, which integrates education, nutrition and pharmacological therapy, offers a comprehensive strategy for managing type 2 diabetes, improving clinical outcomes and promoting long-term health. Collaboration between healthcare professionals and patients is essential to the success of this care model, highlighting the importance of personalizing treatment to meet individual needs.
