Abstract

Continuing education aimed at maintenance workers requires an analysis of the theoretical and practical bases, aiming to recognize the importance of the permanent construction of different knowledge in the hospital context. According to a bibliographic review, complemented by observations from the work context of a hospital in rural Alagoas, the article is based on studies by different authors who argue that the educational process permeates issues articulated in the ethical and humanization dimensions, which unite theory and practice to train workers who are aware of their transformative actions in their social, economic and cultural contexts. Within this perspective, communication and dialogue are fundamental tools in the development of continuing education for hospital maintenance workers.
