Abstract

The active methodologies were developed in the 2nd year class of Elementary School I during the 2022 school year, at the EMARM/ Monte Santo – BA school, from May to December, after the COVID-19 pandemic context. These methodologies have the main objective of directing students' attention and concentration, promoting the activation of children's executive functions and improving their ability to perform basic tasks for cognitive development. To achieve this purpose, the importance of an inquiring look at pedagogical practices and the constant ongoing training of teachers stands out. In this context, it is essential to consider the particularities of the local environment, as well as the children's prior knowledge. The analysis of the topic in question was conducted through a literature review and insights obtained through participant observation, using the action research approach. This focus provided an in-depth understanding of the process, allowing the identification of relevant elements for the continuous improvement of the educational environment.
