Abstract

The objective of this study was to perform a systematic review of the literature on the accuracy of transferring implant position in partially edentulous patients using digital flow. This review was carried out following the PRISMA recommendations and the main question was carried out according to the PICOS strategy. The electronic search was carried out in the international databases MEDLINE/PUBMED, LILACS and SCIELO, in May 2022. As inclusion criteria, only randomized clinical trials were considered (RCT studies on the comparison of conventional and digital impression techniques in edentulous partial, and only articles in English that were published in the last 7 years. After bibliographic research, 94 references were identified in the databases, which were subdivided into 94 references in MEDLINE/PUBMED, 0 references in LILACS and 0 references in SCIELO. Of these, only 26 were eligible after screening the title and abstract, 20 articles did not meet the inclusion criteria and only 6 were included. According to the articles researched, the digital scanning technique for implant transfer impressions and prosthesis manufacturing Implant-supported implants in partially edentulous patients can be used with clinical efficacy, with precision in many studies equal to or greater than the traditional technique. In addition, the use of this technique is more accepted by patients, bringing more comfort and satisfaction in the treatment, despite there being a consensus, there is still a great need in the scientific world for new studies in basic and clinical research to evaluate its precision and efficiency in terms of treatment.
