STRATEGIES FOR IMPLEMENTING CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION

Introduction: Continuing Health Education is understood as a daily update of practices, following the new theoretical, methodological, scientific and technological transport available. Therefore, an education program requires dynamic, participatory, interdisciplinary planning. The objective of this study is to analyze the scientific literature on Continuing Health Education and its influence on the health practices of the nursing team. Methodology: This is an integrative review of the literature. The following descriptors were used: health education; community health nursing; role of the nursing professional, in the Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and Lilacs (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences) databases. Results and Discussion: The majority of subjects responsible for initiatives in the hospital sector highlighted that there is no institutional planning and that professionals use shift changes and meetings, that is, they take advantage of moments during the workday to carry out the educational process. Demonstrate that health education requires planning to be efficient and effective, with the necessary flexibility to adapt to reality. Conclusion: A policy for the management of health education has the weight of sensitizing changes in the institution, therefore, it is necessary that all health workers have a more active participation, think critically about their practices, mobilize in favor of transformations, This will allow Brazilian citizens to have quality healthcare.
