Technological advances have reshaped the educational scenario, bringing with them new tools and methods that enrich pedagogical practice in English language teaching. This study explores the integration of technology in language education, emphasizing how it can transform the teaching-learning process, making it more interactive, personalized and accessible. Through a literature review, we identified the potential of technology to facilitate linguistic immersion and promote learners' autonomy, while highlighting the importance of continuing teacher training for the effective adoption of such tools. The research also points to challenges faced, including resistance to change, disparities in access to technology, and the need for inclusive educational policies. We conclude that, despite the obstacles, technology represents a significant opportunity to improve English language teaching, however, requiring joint efforts to overcome existing barriers and ensure equitable access to educational opportunities. This study contributes to the understanding of how technology can be effectively integrated into language education, offering valuable insights for educators, policymakers and researchers interested in exploring the potential of digital tools in the educational context.
