Cutaneous manifestations in children constitute a broad and challenging area of pediatric dermatology, encompassing a variety of conditions that may present differently in younger patients. Adequate diagnosis and treatment of these manifestations are fundamental not only for dermatological health, but also for the general well-being and quality of life of children. Accurately understanding these conditions requires a comprehensive approach that takes into account factors such as patient age, medical history, clinical characteristics, and potential challenges in delivering treatments. Objective of Systematic Literature Review: Critically analyze recent scientific literature to provide a comprehensive overview of cutaneous manifestations in children, focusing on differential diagnosis and available treatment options. Methodology: The review was carried out in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. The PubMed, Scielo and Web of Science databases were searched for articles published in the last 10 years. The descriptors used were "skin manifestations", "children", "diagnosis", "treatment" and "pediatric dermatology". The inclusion criteria were studies that specifically addressed cutaneous manifestations in children, diagnosis and treatment, while the exclusion criteria included studies that were not available in full text, were not in English or did not directly address the topic. Results: Literature analysis revealed a wide range of skin manifestations in children, including eczema, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, among others. Different conditions were discussed in terms of clinical features, differential diagnosis and treatment options. Varied therapeutic approaches were considered, including topical, systemic therapies and non-pharmacological interventions. Conclusion: This review highlights the importance of early recognition and accurate diagnosis of cutaneous manifestations in children, as well as the need for individualized therapeutic approaches. A comprehensive understanding of these conditions is essential to providing effective dermatologic care and improving the quality of life of pediatric patients.
