THE ROLE OF HEALTH EDUCATION IN NURSING PRACTICE DURING PRENATAL: PROMOTING MATERNAL AND PERINATAL HEALTH

Introduction: Addresses the importance of maternal and perinatal health, emphasizing the role of nursing in promoting health education during prenatal care. Justification: Highlights the relevance of the study in the face of challenges in maternal and perinatal health, emphasizing the need to understand the impact of health education on prenatal nursing practice. Objective: To explore the role of health education in nursing during prenatal care in Brazil, investigating current practices and their impact on maternal and neonatal outcomes. Methods: Conducting an integrative literature review, with defined inclusion and exclusion criteria for the selection of relevant studies, followed by qualitative and quantitative analysis of data. Results: Presentation of the findings of the review, highlighting prenatal health education practices, their impact on maternal and neonatal outcomes, and gaps in the literature. Discussions: Analysis of the results in the context of existing literature, exploring contributions, limitations, and practical implications, as well as suggesting directions for future research. Conclusion: Presentation of the main conclusions of the study and recommendations to enhance prenatal care in Brazil, aiming to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes.
