RANULA MARSUPIALIZATION: A CLINICAL CASE REPORT

Introduction: Ranulas are mucoceles that occur in the submandibular region, their etiology is generally trauma at the site of the lesion or obstruction of the canal of a gland, it is common for mucin to leak into the surrounding soft tissues. Objective: This work aims to report a case of ranula in the floor of the mouth in a 27-year-old patient, who attended the surgery department of the Hospital Universitário Oswaldo Cruz reporting a lesion that increased in volume and burst, with recurrence. Conclusion: Marsupialization of the ranula was the treatment of choice for this case. After the procedure, it is essential that the patient is monitored to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment and provide a better prognosis.
