Abstract

This study investigated the implementation of gamification in elementary education, focusing on how this approach can make classes more engaging and motivating. The general objective was to analyze the effectiveness of gamification in improving student engagement and performance, in addition to contributing to the development of socio-emotional skills. A literature review methodology was used, examining previous studies that addressed the application of game elements in educational contexts. The results indicated that gamification increases student motivation and engagement, improves knowledge retention and promotes the development of important skills for the 21st century. However, the analysis also revealed gaps, especially regarding the long-term effects of gamification and its applicability in different educational contexts. Final considerations highlighted gamification as a pedagogical strategy that deserves continued attention to fully explore its educational potential.
