This article provides a reflection on the importance of school planning in shaping the daily educational landscape. The general objective of the research is to investigate and analyze the relevance of planning, emphasizing its impact on pedagogical practices and the achievement of educational objectives. The specific objectives encompass the identification of theoretical foundations that underlie school planning, the analysis of its direct impact on pedagogical practices to promote a more effective approach in the teaching-learning process, and the evaluation of the perception and engagement of education professionals regarding planning and its application in daily school life. The theoretical framework includes contributions from Libâneo (1994–2016), Padilha (2001), Fonseca (2013), Vasconcellos (2002), among others. The adopted methodology was bibliographic research, providing a comprehensive understanding of the theme. The act of planning is characterized by anticipating actions, setting goals, and defining viable means for their achievement. Through planning, teachers optimize efforts, avoid improvisations, organize content throughout the school year, and facilitate interaction between teacher, student, and knowledge.
