Abstract

This study is a bibliographic essay conceived within the scope of a stricto sensu postgraduate course. With the aim of critically addressing educational policies, we sought to highlight the intertwining between educational policies and the phenomenon of globalization. Initially, the text addresses a definition of the concept of globalization as an originally economic phenomenon, but with political, social, and cultural implications, providing a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon. The work also highlights the educational challenges imposed by this process of globalization, highlighting the influence exerted by international organizations, such as the World Bank, on the decision-making of States and their adherence to large-scale assessments, such as Pisa and Prova Brasil.
