PSYCHOSOCIAL FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH SELF-INJURY IN THE STATE OF PARAÍBA

Given the spectrum that self-inflicted violence encompasses, to perceive that self-injurious behavior (suicidal or not) is involved in issues underlying psychosocial aspects. In this sense, this objective study analyzes the epidemiological profile and its relationship with the psychosocial factors of reports of self-inflicted violence in the state of Paraíba in the period 2020, 2021 and 2022. Carried out through a cross-sectional descriptive observational epidemiological study based on secondary data made available by DATASUS, and structured for analysis in the R software. It is observed that the results indicate a greater number of case notifications in females, with a predominance in the age group between 20-29 years old, as well as among people who declare themselves mixed race and with completed secondary education. The regions of João Pessoa and Campina Grande, as well as the type of self-inflicted violence through poisoning, predominates among the cases. Therefore, it is concluded that there was a significant increase in notifications of cases of self-inflicted injuries in the State of Paraíba, which became a broad field of study for understanding the psychosocial factors that permeate the years analyzed, which highlights the consequences and necessary investigative expansions of the subject.
