Abstract

The use of technologies in the educational process presents itself as an excellent option for educators. Among the countless possibilities, the targeted use of scientific calculators in mathematics classes deserves to be highlighted. Therefore, the general objective of this work was to carry out a systematic review on the use of scientific calculators in teaching mathematics. Methodology: A Specialized Literature Review study of the Systematic Review type was carried out, in the months of August and September 2023 by consulting articles in the Web of Science database, using descriptors: Calculator Scientific, Teaching Mathematics. The exclusion criteria for the research were: Being published before 2013, theses, dissertations. 43 articles were found, 29 of which were accepted into the study based on the inclusion criteria. The main WoS categories related to studies are Educational Research (27.6%) and Education Scientific Disciplines (27.6%). The research revealed that Brazil does not present international work involving the topic, with Malaysia (27.6%) and the United States (27.6%) as the main countries. 55.2% of the works presented are magazine articles and their main area is Education/Educational Research (55.2%). The results obtained in this survey point to a range of possibilities involving educational research addressing the use of scientific calculators in the classroom.
