Abstract

Education as a right for all must contemplate the multiple and diverse possibilities of being, existing and expressing oneself considering, among others, the interfaces between bodies, genders and sexualities (CGS).
In this sense, educational institutions can greatly collaborate to ensure constitutional and universal rights and contribute to quality education, free, democratic, equitable, secular and inclusive of/for/with all.
Therefore, we must understand that schools can be spaces for constructing students' identities, considering and encouraging freedom and respect for differences in their multiple aspects, particularly those concerning religious, regional and regional issues. , class, ethnic-racial, color, gender and sexual identity, ageism, issues of physical and cognitive disability, among others.
This compendium brings together texts that discuss the interfaces between bodies, genders and sexualities in educational contexts and aims to socialize research and practices that problematize and encourage reflection on CGS. This book is structured into three chapters and a space reserved for the production of summaries.
The first chapter presents a discussion on the educational vulnerability of transsexual/transvestite women in educational institutions.
The second chapter brings a discussion through studies on gender and sexuality in a subject of the Postgraduate Program in Scientific Education and Teacher Training – PPE ECFP, at a public state university in the interior of Bahia.
The third chapter presents an experience of carrying out a workshop held for high school students, entitled (Trans)Training through education. The text problematizes discussions about sexual and gender diversity at school.
Finally, a section composed of two summaries is presented.
The first discusses the experiences of a gay man in educational spaces, with the title: “Walk like a boy, don’t twerk like a girl!” Intertwining of approaches to the body, gender and sexuality in the life of a gay person in educational contexts.
The second summary, entitled Religious education and biblical discourses on the representation of women: from subalternization to submission, presents a discussion on the condition of women from the perspective of the Bible.
I hope that the readings provoke reflections that help them to construct multiple and diverse conceptions about bodies, genders and sexualities, opposing the conceptions hegemonically instituted by society.
Good reading!
