Abstract

This article analyzes possible motivational factors for the recent attacks on Brazilian schools based on the national context and its implications in the political field. The profound transformations in the national scenario in recent years have also influenced the behavior of subjects and need to be considered. Understanding the specificities of the Brazilian school scenario and the relationship with the identity construction of adolescents and young people is fundamental for building arguments about the violence that multiplies and causes victims in the school community. To this end, the methodology used was bibliographical research on school violence, the Brazilian political context and youth. The results obtained make it possible to address arms policies, the encouragement of hate speech against minorities, as well as the advance of the extreme right in the country. These aspects contributed to an increase in cases of violence in schools.
