Education is fundamental for social life and influences the formation of identity and citizenship. Moral, religious, cultural and scientific education, formal or informal, prepares human beings for the development of their activities, making them capable of forming an active and transforming relationship with the social environment. Zoology has great attractions to hold the student's attention when he approaches an object of study in this area, specifically animal life. However, there are still classes focused on conjecture with little physical or visual interaction between students and animals, causing them not to integrate with the content. Thus, the study has as a problem question: "How can the use of films and cartoons influence the teaching and learning of science?". The general objective of this work is to analyze the implications of using films and cartoons, such as “SpongeBob” and “Finding Nemo”, for science teaching and learning. This research is a bibliographic review of scientific literature. According to Gil (2010, p. 56): “a bibliographical research is developed based on already elaborated material, consisting mainly of books and scientific articles”. This material was used in the present research from the elaboration of the project, to consulting the publications. With the study, it was possible to understand that the methodologies and strategies most used in teaching live animals are still the traditional ones, requiring innovative methods to carry out more attractive classes and that make the teaching-learning process of this content more meaningful for teachers and students. students.
