Abstract

Education is present in everyone's life, in both school and non-school spaces. In this sense, in Angola, education was already part of the social environment of the indigenous peoples before the invasion of the Portuguese colonizers. This study analyzes the form of criticism of the development of education in Angola before the Portuguese invasion and during the colonial period. This is a qualitative study, using a bibliographical research approach. The results extracted from the literature already published were explored using content analysis. Among the main findings, we highlight the disagreement regarding the Portuguese invasion of Angola, in relation to the data from 1482 and 1483. In addition, there is a lack of studies on pre-colonial education. It is hoped that this work will contribute to academic and social debates, in order to promote multiple reflections on the subject under discussion.
