Gabarro, popularly known, is a foot disease that affects cattle. In intensive and semi-intense farming systems, the prevalence of this condition is high in cattle. This disease affects the tissues in the interdigital space, causing injuries and tissue enlargement. This condition is caused by factors such as friction in the interdigital space, genetics, anatomy of the hooves, nutrition, inadequate handling, among others. When affected by interdigital hyperplasia, the animal presents a decrease in production rates, infertility, and weight loss. The report aims to describe a case seen in the municipality of espigão d'oeste-ro, of a 5-year-old dairy cow, in an extensive breeding system, which presented a lesion in the interdigital space and intense lameness in the hind limb . Left. Clinical examinations were carried out on this animal, and a sample was taken from the lesion for laboratory analysis. With the results of the clinical evaluation and analysis (gram-negative fermenting bacteria), the diagnosis of interdigital hyperplasia was obtained, after which the lesion was removed and drugs were applied as a treatment option, in addition to prophylactic measures.
