The present study is a literature review focused on providing information on pedagogical work in developing reading skills in students with low vision. To this end, a search for material made available on websites was carried out in the period from 2003 to 2023, due to the fact that it is a subject in constant change. Thus, the research was divided into three topics, the first covering the concepts covered, followed by the advances that have already occurred in the investigated scenario, ending with the challenges to be overcome so that there is greater inclusion and better techniques capable of serving such students. As a result, the study found that pedagogical work in developing reading skills in students with low vision is a rewarding journey that contributes to a more inclusive and egalitarian society.
