THE PERFORMANCE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY IN THE PRE-BIRTH IN PREGNANT WOMEN

Introduction: Pregnancy represents a unique and very important moment in women's lives, which is marked by the transformation of motherhood, it is a physiological process that involves numerous physical, hormonal and psychological changes. The performance of physiotherapy during pregnancy aims to promote the prevention of complications, discomfort and musculoskeletal and urogynecological dysfunctions. Objectives: To demonstrate physical therapy techniques in the prepartum period, which seek to facilitate vaginal delivery, reduce labor time and make the pregnant woman better prepared for delivery. Methodology: This study is a literature review carried out through the database of SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS, Brazilian Journal of Development (BJD), Virtual Health Library (VHL), PubMed, Repository of Anima University (RUNA). Conclusion: The role of the physiotherapist in the pre-delivery period is of paramount importance because its benefits are satisfactory and highly effective, providing an increase in self-knowledge, confidence and well-being of the pregnant woman during labor, preventing complications for both mother and baby.
